Drop-In Studio activities for December 31 – January 2 (Open New Year’s Day!): Wow, here we are at the end of 2015 and entering a new year!! This week we have a few celebratory activities, as well as a memory-making one. To celebrate we are making noise makers using upcycled water bottles and filling them with rice, beans, sequins, gems and other treasures. Seal it with tape and shake to ring in 2016. At the back table we’re making wishing wands using ribbons, fabric, feathers and more – wave it to grant the best wishes for the new year… or for other magical quests! :) Our memory-making activity is collaged time capsules. Fill yours with items from the past year or start collecting things from 2016. At the paint table we are doing foam block carving and printing… maybe one of the prints can enter the time capsule. On the back wall we are starting a collaborative marble run. There is a mini recycle craft station set up on the back bench. Slime is at the sensory table. Brushes are at the easel. And a reflection station is in the front – three flowers and a shell turn into many more in the hinged mirror.
