Spring classes and Summer program are both open for registration!

February 7, 2016

The 2016 Summer Program at Muckykids Art Studio is now open for registration! Our popular program of intensive half-day workshops returns. This summer, we are switching the morning and afternoon sections: the younger kids (5-6 year olds) will have the morning section, while the older kids (7-10) will have the afternoons.

The Summer Program is a drop-off program that offers kids a unique opportunity to indulge, explore, and expand their love of art and craft. For three mornings or afternoons a week over 5 summer weeks in July and August, kids can participate in intensive, hands-on art workshops diving into a variety of weekly themes:

  • Week 1 (July 11 – 13) Art and Nature: leaf printing, nature wands, dioramas, paper flowers…
  • Week 2 (July 18 – 20) Papier Mache and Sculpture: unconventional (and messy!) sculpture…
  • Week 3 (July 25 – 27) Paper and Print: sculpt, stitch, and make paper, carve a printing plate…
  • Week 4 (Aug 1 – 3) Art and Science: observe, explore, and make art with the physical world…
  • Week 5 (Aug 8 – 10) Bookmaking: cloth books, collaged/re-purposed books, sewn bindings…

Come join a small group 3 mornings or afternoon a week in July and August, stay cool and create unique art and craft. The instruction is focused, but plenty of room is left for emergent ideas and open-ended exploration. Learn more at the 2016 Summer Program page.

And don’t forget that our Spring classes are also open for registration! The Spring semester starts March 28, 2016. Please check out the full class descriptions and schedules for more information and to register.
